MISUNDERSTOOD WORDS THAT SHAPE BELIEF

This video explores how misunderstood biblical words can shape belief, doctrine, and conduct when people read modern assumptions into ancient texts.

In this teaching, I break down several words that are often heard too casually, too emotionally, or too flat in modern language. Words like knowledge, wisdom, abomination, wrath, heart, fear, fool, judgment, perfect, and repentance all carry more weight in Scripture than the way they are commonly used today.

This is not just about definitions. It is about what happens when a word is handled loosely and then used to build belief.

I also use charity as a case study to show how translation history and language drift can affect interpretation. A word can remain on the page while changing in the reader’s ear. That shift matters.

This video covers:

• why misunderstood words shape belief
• why context acts as a boundary
• why modern definitions cannot be forced onto biblical language
• how translation choices can affect understanding
• how belief gets distorted when a word is flattened, softened, or overstretched

This teaching is meant to slow the reader down, sharpen discernment, and call attention to the difference between what the text says and what people assume it says.

If the word is mishandled, the belief built on it can be mishandled too.
